Honrado

Vineyards

This project captures the unique experience of a traditional winemaking process.

A tradition that has remained largely unchanged for two thousand years. I was asked to create more than just a promotional film; but also an accurate record of an ancient craft. To do this, I moved to the Alentejo region of Portugal and spent an entire month living at the vineyard, immersing myself in their culture to understand every detail behind their specific "Vinho de Talha", a wine fermented in clay amphorae just as the Romans once did.By living on-site, I was able to capture the synergy between the land and the makers, following the grapes from the harvest all the way to the final bottling.

This long-term presence allowed me to move beyond the surface and document the heritage of the Honrado family, focusing on the slow, manual labor that gives their wine its natural elegance.I worked to ensure the film didn’t just show the steps of production, but felt like an extension of the history being preserved in those cellars. Being embedded in the daily life of the vineyard allowed me to truly capture the specific atmosphere of the Alentejo. I focused on the textures of the clay, the shifting light over the plains, and the quiet dedication required to keep such a legacy alive. The final result is a tribute to a timeless craft, a film that values the depth of tradition and the sincere connection between the people and their land.
