My partnership with Filipe Ret began at the very foundation of his trajectory.
This project happens during a pivotal moment in the Brazilian hip-hop scene and remains one of the most significant collaborations of my career. Starting with the direction of the music video for "Neurótico de Guerra." This track was a cultural shift that helped define a new era for rap in Rio de Janeiro and across Brazil. Beyond that initial success, I continued to collaborate with Ret and the Tudubom Records label, directing several other music videos for other artists.

In the centerpiece of this period was the development of "Poeta Jogador," a six-part documentary series filmed between 2014 and 2016. To capture the raw reality of Ret’s ascent, our team of filmmakers traveled with him for over two years, documenting every show and the unpredictable nature of life on the road. The goal was to look past the surface-level clichés of the rap lifestyle, the fame and the parties, to reveal the human side of the artist. We focused on Ret’s personal vision, his poetry, and his candid reflections on the world, capturing both the high-energy peaks and the vulnerable, quiet moments.
